Privacy Policy

What this site collects, why, and what happens to it. Last updated July 2026.

CP Research is an independent research site operated by Chiraag from Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains what personal information the site collects and how it is handled. It is written to be read rather than to be technically exhaustive.

What is collected

Three things, and only when you provide them. If you use the contact form, the site collects the name, email address, and message you submit. If you subscribe to research updates, it collects your email address and, optionally, your name. If you register for the Members Desk, it collects the account details you enter at registration.

The site also records standard server and analytics information such as pages visited and approximate location derived from your IP address. This is aggregate traffic data and is not used to identify individual readers.

Why it is collected

Contact form submissions are used to reply to you. Subscription emails are used to send research updates and nothing else. Member registration details are used to provide access to the Members Desk and to let me know who is on the desk.

What is not done with it

Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. It is not shared with advertisers. It is not used to build a profile for resale. No payment information is collected by this site at all, because Members Desk access is complimentary and there is no checkout.

Who else can see it

The site runs on standard third-party infrastructure, which means certain providers necessarily process data in the course of delivering the service. These include the web host, the content delivery and security layer, and the email delivery path used to send messages to and from the site. Each processes data only to perform that function.

How long it is kept

Contact form submissions are kept while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterward. Subscriber email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Member accounts are kept until you ask for the account to be closed.

Your rights

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Australian residents have these rights under the Privacy Act 1988. To exercise any of them, use the contact form and the request will be actioned.

Every research update includes an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribing removes your address from the list and requires no explanation.

Cookies

The site uses cookies for basic function, including keeping members logged in and remembering preferences. Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time, though doing so will prevent member login from working.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Continued use of the site after that point indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
